Herbal Medicine –The First Natural Therapy
Plants have been used by all civilisations for thousands of years, with the knowledge being passed down through the generations and across cultures. Indeed medicinal plant use certainly dates to pre-human times, all wild animals use the plants around them to promote health. It is estimated that three quarters of the world still rely on herbal medicines for primary health care.

A Herbal consultation involves taking an in depth case history to establish a patient’s health concerns and the patterns within the body’s major systems. Several herbs are chosen for their specific cleansing, stimulating or rejuvenating powers and are combined in a formula, designed specifically for the individual.

The aim of Herbal Medicine is to allow the body to work more effectively, removing obstacles to health and thus promoting the body’s innate healing powers.

It is only in the last few decades that Western doctors have relied exclusively on chemical drugs and replaced herbal preparations with chemical equivalents, many of which have been synthesized (chemically reproduced) from the plants that our ancestors always used. However, unlike modern drugs which typically consist of a single active chemical, herbs contain a natural spectrum of organic constituents which work together to support the body and which are non-addictive and extremely safe to use.

Nature provides all the medicines we need.
