Naturopathic Nutrition

Naturopathic Nutrition addresses far more than just how and what we eat, the Naturopathic approach to Nutrition will cleanse the body of toxins and identify and improve areas of nutritional deficiency.

In our increasingly stressful lives eating a ‘balanced diet’ is a great challenge, the foods available to us are becoming more and more processed.

‘Dead’ foods cannot provide the body with what it needs, which means our food is no longer a reliable source of vitamins and minerals and as a result we become simultaneously more toxic and more depleted of nutrients essential for the maintenance of a healthy body and mind.

Aiming to restore integrity back to the body so that it can address its own imbalances, Naturopathic Nutrition uses simple naturopathic techniques and looks at the importance of diet and overall nutritional levels.

Using an Holistic approach which sees the person as an individual, taking into account their physical, emotional, biochemical and social circumstances it aims to identify and treat the underlying cause of an illness or imbalance rather than just suppressing or alleviating symptoms.

The Naturopathic approach puts great emphasis on the need to cleanse and detoxify the body before it can renourish, focussing on identifying and eliminating toxins and stress rather than simply prescribing supplements which initially could add to the toxic load. Once cleansed, the body can more easily absorb the minerals, which are essential to the effective activity of vitamins in the body.

The first visit to the Naturopathic Nutritionist lasts for two hours, a detailed history is taken and a course of treatment decided. Subsequent visits last for one hour and it is recommended that the client commits to at least three visits to receive the full benefit from the treatments given.
