Osteopathy

The maintenance of good mechanical function is essential to good health. Problems in the framework of the body can disturb the circulatory system or nerves to any part of the body and affect any aspect of health. Mechanical problems can lead not only to aches and pains in joints and muscles, but also to disturbances in the internal organs and the way they work.

Osteopaths work to restore the musculoskeletal system of the body to a state of balance and harmony.

Cranial Osteopathy is very gentle form of Osteopathy, it is a very subtle and refined form of treatment using very gentle manipulative pressure (no heavy manipulations or dramatic clicks) to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body including the head. It is very successful in addressing old trauma and it’s deeply held effects, in everyone including babies and the frail and elderly.

Classical and Cranial Osteopathy is very successful in treating injury, all types of pain, internal organs, persistent and chronic problems such as headaches, repetitive strain injury and migraine.

At the first appointment the Osteopath will take a full history and make a thorough examination (the patient should be prepared to undress down to their underwear) aiming to not only relieve the current symptoms but address the underlying causes and prevent a recurrence of the problem.
